Thicket Pool Rules

General Pool Rules

  1. No running or rough play (throwing each other, pushing, dunking, getting on another's shoulders, splash fights, dog fights).
  2. No glass containers or alcoholic beverages allowed in pool areas.
  3. No diving in shallow end of pool (6 feet or less)-
  4. No swimming in designated diving areas of pool.
  5. Only small floating items, upon pool manager's discretion, will be allowed in the pool.
  6. Swimmers in the water have the right of way. Those entering the water from diving boards, the deck, or from water slides must make certain no one is in front of them.
  7. No pets are permitted on pool premises.
  8. Proper swimming attire required.
  9. The use of cocoa butter, baby oil, and other heavy suntan oils causes filter It is recommended that these lotions not be permitted in the pool.
  10. Members who have guests must sign them in and be responsible for them at all times. If the member leaves so does the guest.
  11. Stay off the ropes.
  12. All swimmers must exit the water during 10-minute safety break.

13-       No swimming after designated swimming hours, unless special arrangements have been made through the Contractor or the Board of Directors. Anyone caught swimming after hours will be suspended for the remainder of the summer and have trespassing charges filed against him or her.

  1. No one will be admitted without the proper I.D. (when applicable)
  2. Obey lifeguards and other supervisory personnel. Talking with lifeguards on duty is prohibited.
  3. Chewing gum while swimming is prohibited.

         Swimming with an open sore or a communicable disease is prohibited.

  1. Jumping off backwards or anyway that throws the head back towards the side of the pool is prohibited. Flips from the side of the pool are not allowed.
  2. Be alert to anyone in trouble. Call for help immediately. Do not move or remove injured people from the water who complain of back or neck injuries.
  3. Lifeguards are employed to ensure the safety of the swimmers. They have authority to remove from the pool area anyone disobeying the rules or endangering the safety of himself or another person. The lifeguard has the authority to suspend offender for one day. Additional violations will be turned over to the pool committee. Repeat violations may result in revocation of swimming privileges for the remainder of the summer.

Baby Pool Rules

  1. Lifeguards are not responsible for the baby pool.
  2. Users must be accompanied by parent or guardian eighteen (18) years of age or older and stay within an arms reach.
  3. Parents or guardians are responsible for their children.
  4. All pool rules apply to baby pool.
  5. Swimsuits required. Disposable diapers not allowed. Little swimmers or plastic diapers are recommended.
  6. Only non-swimming, pre-school children five (5) years or under may use the baby pool.

Diving Board Rules

  1. Only one (1) person on board or ladder at a time. Divers must wait for person in front of them to get to the side before they dive
  2. Swimming only permitted when diving boards are not in use (or closed to allow swimming).
  3. Divers must be able to swim the length of the pool (on stomach while breathing) in a reasonably safe manner without stopping to use the diving board.
  4. Jump straight off board. Swim to ladder. When diving, keep arms stretched out in front to protect head.
  5. Only feet allowed on board (no handstands, etc.).
  6. Inward dives (i.e. cut-aways) or flips of any kind are not allowed.
  7. Only one (1) bounce allowed on the board.
  8. Lifeguard is not to be splashed intentionally.
  9. Adjust board only with lifeguards' permission.
  10. Young children can go off board with parent present and waiting at the ladder, not under the end of the board. Children may not dive while wearing flotation devices up to and including floaties, goggles, fins or mask, etc. The child could sustain injuries.

Pool Opening Hours

Pool hours follow the Klein IDS school schedule, and the pool will not open on a school day. This will take precedence over the dates shown here in the case of unforseen changes in school calendars or events.

Pool hours from May 28th to August 19th (Klein ISD school release and return respectively), and additional specific days outside these dates.
